| ARTS-IN-EDUCATION |
| "Arts-In-Education" is a grant program designed by the South Carolina Arts Commission by which qualifying organizations bring artists in to SC schools to enhance student learning. With the generous support of our citizens, local businesses and matching grants from the South Carolina Arts Commission, the Barnwell County Arts Council has been able to continue its participation in this program and therefore supplement the art education programs in our local schools. In the recent past BCAC organized and sponsored the performances of the following artists in the schools of Barnwell County: musical performer Sean Driscoll; Storyteller Tim Lowry; African Drumming troup, Borenya!; and muralist Marie Cheek. For several consecutive years, Mr. Russ Petty has lead students in painting murals; a tradition BCAC plans to continue.
